Indiana State University combines a tradition of strong undergraduate and graduate education with a focus on community and public service. They integrate teaching, research, and creative activity in a challenging, engaging, and supportive learning environment to prepare productive citizens for Indiana and the world.
We had the privilege of working with the communications and marketing team at Indiana State to produce a video about the hands-on experience of their Student Media program. This program allows students to be the producers and videographers at live sporting events at Indiana State. Not only are the students in charge, but the game is hosted live on ESPN 3.
This was a fun project because we got to shoot in a big stadium and film a sporting event, which made for a fast-paced and exciting video. – Joe Frank, Senior Production Lead at 12 Stars Media
We asked Santhana Naidu, Associate Vice President at Indiana State, a few questions about the video we produced for them. Here’s what he had to say:
Why did you decide to produce this video?
Video is becoming the preferred and most popular way to reach our prospective clients (students). So, video is increasingly becoming a bigger piece in our content marketing efforts. I believe a well-produced 2-3 minute video can tell our story more effectively than writing a 1,000-word story. We produced this video to tell our future students how one of our programs goes beyond classroom learning to give them real world experience.
What kind of results have you seen from this video?
We have received terrific feedback on this video so far! We have used several distribution channels to get the most value out of this video. So far, this video has reached over 50,000 people and we have seen over 1,000 reactions/comments/shares in social outlets and more than 500 post clicks. This is probably one of our most successful marketing videos in the last couple of years.
What did you like about working with 12 Stars Media on this video?
12 Stars Media did an amazing job in understanding our brand and developing a concept to tell our story through video. They were very organized and produced this video with minimal involvement on our end. Other than brainstorming this concept and organizing students to be available during a game day, we were pretty hands-off and they did rest of the work. They were able to go from concepting to delivering a fully produced video in 3-4 weeks. We are already working on our next two videos with 12 Stars Media!
At 12 Stars Media, we don’t just create videos, we create partnerships. That’s why we loved teaming up with Indiana State University on this video. We’re looking forward to creating more videos together and seeing how we can help Indiana State achieve their goals.
